Have the scales tipped in favour of the electric revolution?

Electric cars accounted for 6984, or 6.4 per cent, of the 109,966 vehicles reported as sold in August this year. The year-to-date figure is even higher, with 7.2 per cent of all new cars reported as sold so far this year running on batteries alone.
