In just a 24 hour period, from 6am on December 29, to 6am on December 30, police have received 18 reports of vehicles being broken into and property stolen.
The main suburbs targeted by the offenders were:
- Wavell Heights (three instances): Main Avenue, Esdale Street and Abbey Street
- Chermside (three instances): Gilmour Street, Rode Road and Mermaid Street
- Newmarket (two instances): Bearson Street and Wickham Street
- Hendra (two instances): Playstowe Crescent and Manson…
