A boy has died 10 days after a schoolmate crashed a car down a Brisbane embankment.

Three 17-year-old boys, in their final year at Marist College Ashgrove, were in the car that veered off Lanita Rd and hurtled down the steep hill in Ferny Grove on the night of July 9.

While the driver and one passenger escaped with non-life threatening injuries, the other boy fought for his life with critical head injuries in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
