A Brisbane Uber driver has been allegedly assaulted by men armed with hammers in a random attack at Taringa.

Jason King, 51, was working early on Wednesday morning when he says he was ambushed by teenagers at Robertson Park just after 3.20am.

“They came up to the side of the car, the guy looks in, pretending to make sure that it was his Uber, opens the door and just starts slamming into me,” he said.
