Ray received a call from Nicholas, who was almost hit by four youths in a stolen BMW in Clayfield in Brisbane’s north-east.
Nine police cars and a PolAir helicopter were in pursuit of the BMW along Sandgate Road.
“They almost ran into me and went into the side of my van, and they had bolt cutters in the front seat,” Nicholas told Ray after being “shaken up” by the event.
