Volvo is planning to make electric trucks at its Wacol manufacturing plant on the outskirts of Brisbane from 2027, which has already built 75,000 trucks over the past 50 years.

But local heavy vehicle regulations limit the weight of trucks’ front axles to a maximum of 6.5 tonnes to minimise road damage.
