A spike in car accidents involving vehicles and pedestrians has claimed two lives in Queensland, with authorities recording four incidents on Saturday night.

A 25-year-old man died after sustaining critical injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in Brisbane’s south.

The man was transported in a critical condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital after the alleged incident on Mains Road near Turton Street at 11.18pm.
