Toyota Yaris Cross goes hybrid only

Toyota’s smallest SUV is now hybrid only in Australia and overseas, amid high demand for fuel-sipping petrol-electric power.


The Toyota Yaris Cross has ditched petrol-only power – and gone all-in on hybrid technology – globally.

It is the third Toyota passenger vehicle without a Prius badge to go hybrid-only – after the new C-HR small SUV and Camry sedan – though both of these vehicles aren’t due in showrooms until next year.
